Fort Lee Swings Sinatra Centennial With Free Film

FORT LEE, N.J. — Celebrate the upcoming 100th birthday of Frank Sinatra with the Fort Lee Film Commission on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The salute to Sinatra includes a screening of the 1964 film "Robin and the 7 Hoods," which features Ol' Blue Eyes and his Rat Pack pals. Sinatra performed at Bill Miller's Riviera Nightclub atop Fort Lee's Palisades many times in the 1940s and early 1950s and made his comeback at the Riviera during a two-week engagement in September of 1953. 

Musician/singer Thaddeus McGregor will perform some Sinatra classics on stage and musician Tom Austin of The Royal Teens will read and sign copies of his new book on the Riviera Nightclub. 

The free event will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Fort Lee Historic Park Museum Theatre off Hudson Terrace and Bruce Reynolds Boulevard. Seating is limited to 100. Doors open at 7 p.m.
